However, when there is an event that is planning on displaying some of the most unbelievable Color Diamond pieces to be exhibited, the excitement and anticipation is just magnified.
On April 8th, Hong Kong will once again be the host of the much-awaited Sotheby’s Spring Auction. The Sotheby’s Hong Kong Spring 2013 Auction will present a rare and important selection of Fancy Color Diamonds. These unusual stones are said to be one of the auction’s highlights, which will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
Among the many dignified pieces is a ring boasting a 3.04-carat heart-shaped Fancy Intense Intense Blue Diamond, surrounded by Pink and colorless diamonds. The ring is believed to fetch somewhere between $2 million and $2.5 million. That is an impressive estimate for a more than impressive ring.
Another one-of-a-kind Color Diamond jewelry piece is the Blushing Gold ring, which was recently exhibited at the Royal Kensington Palace. This ring features a 13.10-carat Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond surrounded by Argyle Pink Diamonds. This stunner is estimated at $900,000 to $1.5 million.
There has been a significant jump in the interest of investors from the United States and mainland China, as they now understand that they don't need to invest millions of dollars in order to grow their savings. On February 07, 2013, a beautiful ring with a 0.51-carat Fancy Vivid Purplish Pink center stone sold for $338,500! Colors, such as Pinks, Blues, and even Yellows have substantially appreciated, and people have begun to take notice. Investments are all relative. A smaller investment will yield a smaller return, but will still appreciate over time.
