Ice Reigns at the 2014 Emmy’s
Not the ALS Ice-bucket kind – although we would have loved to see a drenched celebrity or two at last night’s awards show! The unspoken themes seems to have been red and white dresses, soft waves, and beautiful but elegant jewelry. Our favorites were of course the pieces that incorporated a splash of color!
Nominee for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Series for Project Runway stunned onlookers in her coral A-line Zac Posen gown, complete with a small train and mini cape. She also wore jewelry from her good friend Lorraine Schwartz that featured gorgeous emeralds and white diamonds.
The ever-graceful and fresh Nominee for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for The Good Wife wore a black semi-open back Narcisco Rodriguez dress and accessorized with a Narcisco Rodriguez clutch.
The only way that the star of The Spoils of Babylon and Nominee for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for that role could have improved upon her Zuhair Murad pale platinum gown was with her Rauwolf clutch and her amazingly awesome Forevermark diamond ear cuffs that were totally edgy and totally stunning.
Keeping on theme one of the many red dresses of the evening, the Homeland star wowed in a Givenchy Haute Couture dress, clutch and shoes, and accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz ruby jewelry. She was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Homeland.
The modern family actress that was literally put on a pedestal (or on show depending who you ask) to revolve slowly for the audience to admire as part of the evening antics wore the other popular color of the night, a stunning mermaid shaped white gown from Roberto Cavalli. She accessorized with gorgeous jewelry from good friend Lorraine Schwartz, including a show stopping diamond knotted bracelet and coordinating diamond ring.
Jessica wore a stunning black Lanvin wrap dress with a beaded bodice, black Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels and some very interesting Fred Leighton jewelry, including a huge white gold knot pendant.
Funny girl Amy Poehler, who stole the show from fellow SNL alum Seth Meyers right from the beginning, was dressed to kill in a V-neck THEIA matte silver sequin and crystal hand embroidered gown and was yet another celeb who accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
This year’s Emmy’s left no room for disappointment as far as wardrobe was concerned! With the likes of Bryan Cranston, Julianna Margulies, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jim Parsons on the short list of winners, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences did an excellent job choosing television’s best this year.
