It seems as though nothing can keep fancy black diamonds off the red carpet.
The 2013 TIME 100 Icons Gala, recently held at the Lincoln Center in New York, was graced by multi-talented Nigerian actress, singer, reality-show star, philanthropist, and mother of four; Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.
Known to her legion of fans as “Omo Sexy,” Omotola was named in the company of other icons including Aung San Sun Kyi and another lover of fancy color diamonds – Beyoncé.
For the big occasion, Omotola truly was an advocate for the “black is beautiful” camp, wearing a black dress by Nigerian designer, Nanci Nwadire, stunning earrings, and a magnificent black diamond cocktail ring.
Although yellow and pink diamond jewelry had taken the world by storm, it seems as though Fancy black diamonds have been one of the more popular choices of among the stars over the past year or so. Almost every event has at least one and usually multiple celebrities adorned with these gems. Many people had never heard of black diamonds until brought to their attention by the celebs. They have now taken on a popularity all their own.
