Yellow Diamonds and Celebrities
Colored Diamonds are becoming more and more popular among celebrities as can be seen on the red carpet, in photos, and on the big screen. Yellow Diamonds, or Canary Diamonds as they are also known, are found more in abundance than other colors and they exude a joyous and uplifting feeling. Here are just some of our favorite stars who love to flaunt their yellow stones.
Ms. Monroe is famous for many reasons, and her love for fine jewelry is one of them. She is one of the most classic examples of celebrities who adored, and adorned Yellow Diamonds. Like many celebrities, Monroe had multiple opportunities to wear phenomenal jewelry as a loan. One example is the “Moon of Baroda,” a pear-shaped 4.04-carat Yellow Diamond, which dates back to the 18th century. She wore this unbelievable piece to the premier of the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
Jennifer Lopez certainly has a love for Colored Diamonds. Her engagement ring from ex-fiancé Ben Affleck was a Pink Diamond ring and the ring she received from Marc Anthony upon the birth of her twins boasted a beautiful bright Canary Yellow Diamond. Additionally, the singer/actress has been seen on numerous occasions adorning various Yellow Diamond jewels. One such incident was at the “Raise Your Right Hand Ring for Africa” charity benefit, where she wore a ring with 30 carats of Yellow Diamonds.
It’s no secret that the former First Lady loves Yellow Diamonds. She wore the stunning jewels to the inaugurations of her husband, first when he became governor, and then later when he became president. Kahn Jewelers lent the Yellow Diamond jewelry to her on both occasions.
The 5-carat Yellow Diamond engagement ring that country singer Carrie Underwood received from Mike Fisher is perhaps one of the most famous celebrity engagement rings, and Yellow Diamond ones in particular, of all times. Her diamond happens to be a bit darker than most Canary Diamonds, but is exceptionally beautiful. White Diamonds surround the stone to create a halo design. The diamond’s color goes perfectly with Carrie’s golden locks.
Heidi’s 10-carat Yellow Diamond engagement ring was given to her when she got engaged to Seal. The two have since divorced though at the time Klum said the Yellow Diamond was a symbol of good luck.
The stunning Natalie Portman looks absolutely fabulous in just about everything, but there was something even more mesmerizing than usual when she wore a pair of Yellow Diamond earrings to the SAG Awards. The earrings were from Tiffany & Co. and contained 27.95 carats of diamonds set in platinum.
The massive Canary Diamond engagement ring given to singer Kelly Clarkson last December is a great way to end this list of celebrities who wore Yellow Diamonds. The rather large yellow stone was surrounded by White Diamonds and set on a diamond-studded band.
It’s safe to say that colorless diamonds are no longer the obvious choice when it comes to engagement rings, wedding ring, or any other jewelry piece. When celebrities adopt a trend it is a sure sign that it is here to stay. Though Yellow Diamonds have been seen on celebrities as far back as Marilyn Monroe and beyond, the fact that they are still making appearances proves that they are not going anywhere.
