We could not have expected more from the highly anticipated ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ premiere in Los Angeles. The movie, which opened in theaters recently, does not have an overly original plot, but does have a star studded and extremely likeable cast, which includes some of Hollywood’s’ in-their-40s A-listers. These include the gorgeous and fashionable Cameron Diaz, the delightful Jennifer Lopez, and the phenomenally talented Elizabeth Banks. The stars, along with their co-stars, appeared at the LA premier studded in beautiful jewels.
Cameron Diaz, who just hit forty, dazzled in a chic black dress paired with dangling diamond earrings. Though some expected more from the actress, her choice of jewelry was sensible and complemented her outfit.
Jennifer Lopez looked breathtaking on the red carpet with her 18K rose gold champagne diamond and white diamond earrings by Jacqueline Nerguizian Fine Jewelry. She also wore a 14K white gold marquise diamond pinky ring as well as an 18K yellow gold and ruby ring, by the same designer. Although Lopez’s jewelry was truly magnificent, it was her fabulous gown that had everyone talking. Flowing and romantic, her elegant blush-colored Maria Lucia with a plunging neckline stole the show.
Elizabeth Banks’ cocktail dress was a deep crimson, which contrasted with her fair skin. Her pumps matched perfectly as did her dangling diamond earrings. For an extra touch, Banks wore a gold brooch in her hair, which was set in a French twist.
Co-star Brooklyn Decker was as bright as could be in a yellow Giambattista gown complete with Blue Nile 2.10-carat fancy yellow diamond and white diamond earrings, a 25-carat yellow and white diamond bracelet featuring 300 diamonds, and a rare 9-carat fancy yellow diamond surrounded by 100 white diamonds totaling 3 carats. Anna Kendrick looked elegant in her short dress, though her Elie Saab was not as safe as Cameron Diaz’s black number. Her accessories included Norman Silverman earrings and an Edie Parker clutch.
In Hollywood, every event, whether a premiere, a benefit, or an awards show, is an opportunity to shine, and these starlets certainly did just that. The gowns and dresses may have been to-die-for, but the diamonds, the white, the champagne, and the yellow, glittered like the sun.
